Hidden Gem in Kingston
I came here with my husband and parents for dinner and had a great experience. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and beers. I was expecting pub food on the menu but the Merchant actually has a lot of healthy options. The food was fast and the presentation was really good. The menu had a lot of options and and the chef was able to accommodate my mothers food allergies. We decided to try dessert and got the chocolate peanut butter perogies, they were delicious and something I have never tried. I will be returning to the Merchant!!
We always enjoy our meal
We go to the Merchant quite often for a meal. My wife has quite a few food intolerance's and we have a hard time eating out, but we have found the staff to be very accommodating and understanding. The Heritage building is a very nice setting for this pub and they have lots on tap to choose from. The only downfall is trying to save enough room for one of their homemade desserts!
Wow great live music scene! We had a great time thank you. Huge beer selection. Friendly staff. We loved it from start to finish
Great Food & Beverages
We ate at this pub as it was close to our accommodation and had patio seating. We went for a very late lunch/early dinner. The menu has quite a selection but we were in the mood for burgers & beer. Hubby ordered the Warm Spinach Salad to start and I said I would have a couple of bites. We devoured it and I have since tried to replicate it at home - it was amazing. We both ordered the 40 Creek Whiskey Burger - flavourful, juicy and extremely filling. They came with a side of fries, which were done to perfection. The beer was cold and refreshing. The next day we were still thinking about that salad, the burger and fries. We went back!!! It was as delicious as the day before and the beer was again cold and refreshing. It's not fancy but the food is well prepared, generously portioned and reasonable priced. The service both times was friendly and professional. We would definitely return.
Surprise Bday party gone very right!
We recently had a surprise birthday party for my wife at The Merchant in Kingston, ON. The staff were fantastic, in helping us organize, looking after the cake and other special treats we brought, and the owner himself even stopped by to greet us and treat us to a birthday drink. The dinners were all incredible, and not a single complaint could be heard. The pub atmosphere is first class and the location is very easy to get to, with loads of parking all around. Perfect spot for anything Pub.
Fun place to party
We enjoyed an evening here of eating, boozing and partying in celebration of a friend's milestone achievement for longevity. The buffet was good, the beer flowed freely, service was friendly and prompt, and the local band did a great job with the tunes. Thanks to the Merchant Tap House for a great night in Kingston.
Choice spot, Choice Bevy's
Not only great atmosphere all round but you can enjoy a wide variety of great beers, such a bonus to be in a cozy bar in a small town and you can enjoy top quality beers from around the world! Experience Europe with a Stella, Bass, Becks, the USA with Rolling Rock, Shock Top, Bud family and of course Canada with Keith's, Kokanee, 50 and many more! Cheers to that*
Amazing place to go!
The merchant tap house is one of the most amazing places for food, fun, drink and more! It's staff is terrific and such an inspiring place to go in Kingston. We have enjoyed it every time we have visited it and plan to go back, Go and enjoy. Have fun and meet new people. Great place and historic too!
Great Food and Cold Pints
If you're looking for a bite to eat or just a cold pint the Merchant is a great choice. Their pub fare is really good but they also do a nice steak dinner at a great value. The staff are friendly and they have lots of seating so you don't have to wait for a table.
Great food and atmosphere
Great food and atmosphere with great live music. They also have a great variety of beers on tap.
So happy we decided to stop here!
We decided to stop here for dinner even though its a pub and we had our two children (4&6). Our waitress was so friendly and accommodating, given that children don't often eat there. She was lovely and the food was to die for. We happened to be there on customer appreciation night and our beer was only $3.50 which was a nice bonus. Great atmosphere! There was a stage so I assume they have live music later in the evenings. Place was busy which in my mind is a good thing! Overall it was an awesome experience and they were just a hop away from our hotel. Lovely waterfront area:)
21 beers on tap!
Fantastic location, fantastic ambiance, fantastic food & drink, fantastic music. Been going to The Merchant Macliam (aka TapHouse) since it opened. One of THE best spots in Kingston.
